Raise information up on PeopleSoft

If you log into PeopleSoft, you can now view your upcoming paycheck that reflects our raise. I'm interested to see if yours is correct. Both mine and my roommate's is reflective of only being a Step 2 teacher, even though this is our third year in.

Update: I spoke to an HR rep who was very helpful(!!). Our step increase will be indicated after the beginning of the new fiscal year (October 1).

Mine also says step 4, when I should be step 5. However, I looked at my salary history and my previous increases haven't happened until mid-september. So, I'm thinking the Step 5 won't kick in until the next paycheck. Doesn't make any sense, if you ask me. It's probably something that kicks over based on a date in the system.

That's correct. The STEP date for most DCPS teachers is Sept. 1-7. Remember that this week's paycheck reflects work from 8/15 to 8/28.

From what I've heard, it's LAST year's raise that you should see on this check. Next year's raise doesn't kick in until the new fiscal year, which starts October 1. So your step increase and the final raise should be on your first October check.

Helpful downtown people are nice. That's one thing I think Rhee made a really positive impact on.

Reflective Educator..you are soo right!

"Downtown/Central Office" is sooooo much better in terms of customer service. Rhee although I really dont care for her "reform-methods" has done a great job in moving HR and updating DCPS in many other areas. Payroll and HR was once a nightmare to navigate!!! People were very rude and unfriendly! She's good at getting order through the chaos.

That's where the business model belongs...in a business like the central office.
